Her warm and engaging demeanor makes her a natural fit for collaborating with young people and bringing out their strengths. Ana is dedicated to helping youth unlock their potential, build coping strategies, and foster personal growth.
Ana’s foundation in mental health treatment began during her undergraduate studies at Quinnipiac University, where she majored in Psychology and minored in Sociology. Her academic pursuits ignited a passion for child development and the crucial role early intervention plays in fostering resilience and emotional health. Motivated by her desire to make a lasting impact, Ana pursued a Master of Social Work degree with a concentration in Children, Youth, and Families at the University of Southern California (USC). Her experience at USC included comprehensive training in developmentally tailored evidence-based treatments, equipping her with the skills needed to effectively address the unique challenges faced by youth and their families.
During her graduate training and after earning her degree, Ana obtained extensive experience providing clinical services in a variety of settings, including pediatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, residential treatment programs, and private practice. Her ability to expertly diagnose and manage complex presentations was honed through directly working with hundreds of children and adolescents with significant mental health needs and their families. Ana recognizes the value of an integrated care approach and actively pursued opportunities to work in multidisciplinary settings. She is particularly adept at partnering with psychiatrists, primary care providers, and educators to provide a team-based approach and successfully advocate for her clients’ mental health needs.
Ana is committed to ensuring her clients receive the highest quality care by using approaches that are supported by scientific evidence. She is a lifelong learner, actively engaging in workshops, seminars, and conferences to remain at the forefront of the latest research and advancements in the field of mental health. Ana opted to enhance her solid foundation in evidence-based practice by undergoing rigorous, expert-led training in CBT and exposure and response prevention (ERP) for the treatment of OCD at Lumate Health under the supervision of Cara Settipani, PhD.
